The site for the new shipping facility is located at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, MI. thorough investigation through the use of diagramming, patterns of operation were uncovered that could be used to create a facility that would better service and improve flow of goods from air to ground shipping. The massive space required by the program was met by continuing a slope within the landscape towards the sky connecting the different forms of transportation together. The new facility would provide adequate and efficient protected workspace for cargo while enabling corporate business to occur simultaneously and occasionally intermingle. Day-lit and naturally ventilated interior spaces were created to help reduce the load on existing resources.
